DKIST General

Operational Status

  • DKIST is in week 2 of science observing period OCP 2.9

SciOps and OpsTools team

Accomplishments

  • Time Allocation Committee selected the scientific proposals to observe during Cycle 3.

TechOps team

Accomplishments

  • OCP2.9 direct support by ETechs & Engineers in DE role. Troubleshooting support from EE’s for PLC and thermal issues.

  • Starting major recruitment drive / focus as with recent resignations and retirements TechOps has 8 empty positions and is in various stages of recruitment for 7 of them.

  • Performance Review cycle in full swing.

  • Summit EV chargers installation ongoing.

  • Bids received and contractor selected for the DKIST PV Project, DLNR permitting process starting with UH.

  • HazMat / excess material sorting and prep for appropriate disposal.

InstOps team

Accomplishments

  • Supported OCP 2.9 instrument operations

  • Performed the Infrared camera startup meeting in Boulder to develop management documents and lab system schedule.

  • Signed an IR detector delivery amendment with Raytheon. Short-wave IR detectors due in November.

  • Continued to ITAR-proof the 1st floor Boulder lab.

  • Had the M9b kickoff meeting with Zygo. Mechanical design meeting scheduled for November.

  • MCAO and M9b tables are ready for shipping to the summit

  • November-January instrument tasks have been scheduled.

Data Center team

Accomplishments

  • Updated the portal to move Proposal ID and Target

  • Completed the vimeo movie upload service and started creating movies in Vimeo, including moving all previously created movies to Vimeo

  • Refactored the Cryo-NIRSP linearity correction to skip ramps correctly

  • Began update the science data transfer service to accept “tar”ed files in oredr to speed up data transfer from the summit.EHS team
