Why did I get an email from Globus?

Summary

If a proposal for which you are a Principal Investigator (PI) or a Co-Investigator(Co-I) has been accepted by the Time Allocation Committee (TAC), then you will likely receive one or more automatic e-mails from Globus that may read as follows:

Discussion

These emails are a result of your proposals getting accepted by the TAC, which causes the Data Center to automatically add you to a Globus group that will give you PI/Co-I level access to any data published by the Data Center resulting from the proposal you submitted.

It should be noted that receipt of these emails from Globus does not in any way imply or guarantee that data has or will be generated as a result of your proposal.

The DKIST team is aware that these emails may cause some confusion and some dismay if the volume of emails is large, however discussions with Globus have failed to find a suitable solution to the “spamming” of your inbox, since Globus is responsible to alert you of changes that relate to your account.

Example of opting out of PA Notifications

Even if you have opted out of notification for your Proposal using the Proposal Architect (PA), you may still get Globus notifications as described above.

Unless you have gotten these emails in error, please disregard these emails. If data is generated based on your accepted proposal, you will be notified directly by email from DKIST that your data is available for download. If, on the other hand, you have gotten these emails in error (i.e. you were not part of a proposal submission, or if this is not a proposal you were on), please let us know by submitting a bug report at the DKIST HelpDesk.
