The Telescope Interlock Manager (TIM) is the HMI display the provides current information about the Global Interlock System via a touch screen display. The primary display is located at the Utility Level and a secondary display is in the control room.

The various displays form a hierarchical structure of information and navigation can be made by selecting items from the menu bar at the bottom or via navigation buttons that can take you to the next (or previous) page if there are series of displays. There is usually a ‘home’ button to return you to the Main display. The ‘Return’ button will send you back to the page you were previously on.

The HMI were designed using the principles of Abnormal Situation Management or ASM. In general, the use of color is reserved to indicate an abnormal condition (i.e. non-operational or restricted operation condition). Red usually denotes an interlock condition is present. Blue usually indicates a required action must be preformed to restore operation. Yellow usually indicates a restricted condition (such as a speed limit). Orange usually indicates a warning about a potential hazard (such as a limit being overridden). Green is avoided because of potential issues with red-green colorblindness.

Main Display

There are a total of 14 Goto display buttons on the main page. In addition, there are login and logout buttons as well as a display of the current user.

The engineering button will not appear unless you login and have elevated privileges as it contains functions that are restricted to certain personnel.
