Overview

The GIS is a safety-related control system that provides a redundant, stand-alone safety mechanism for personnel and equipment. It consists of Allen-Bradley GuardLogix controllers and Guard I/O modules interconnected using an EtherNet/IP network.

The GIS is WBS 1.2.3.4.5.

Current Status

The current operational status of the safety system can be found in several documents.

Drawings

Because the GIS spans many systems there is not one single set of schematics for the entire system. Rather each subcontractor created drawings for their parts of the safety system. The GIC, Instrument LIC, OSS LIC, and Facilities LIC were created in-house so they have their own DKIST drawing set originally created in ePlan.

Design Requirements Documents

During the design phase of the project there was copious amounts of documentation created for design and review purposes. These live on in various Microsoft Word documents which are generally archived in the Vault.

Many of these documents will be migrated over to Confluence over time.
