Coudé Enable

The primary key Aa, is used to enable Coudé Azimuth Rotation. The key Aa is located in the control room. Removing either of the Aa keys will disable Coudé Azimuth Rotation.

Coudé Lab Full Speed Enable

The primary key Da, is used to limit Coudé azimuth rotation speed to 0.5°/s. The key Da is located in the control room. Removing the Da keys will limit Coudé azimuth rotation speed. Inserting the Da key into the lockbox by the door to the Coudé Lab will release three personnel safety keys Ea. Each individual entering the Coudé Lab must take a personnel safety key with them. If additional personnel safety keys are needed, an Ea key can be inserted into a key exchange unit that releases six additional keys. This allows for a total of eight people to be in the Coudé Lab.

Removing the primary key Da does not prevent Coudé azimuth rotation.

Removing the primary key Da does not prevent hazardous instrument motion.
