Connecting to a VM

From one of the HLS Workstations:

  1. Click Applications->Utilities->Remote Desktop Viewer (or from the command line run vinagre)

  2. Click Connect

  3. Select RDP Protocol

  4. Enter hostname or IP Address (mmcs: 10.3.1.12, cmcs: 10.3.1.13, m1: 10.3.1.9)

  5. Set resolution: Width: 1600, Height: 1200

  6. Enter username: atst-devel

  7. Click Connect

  8. When prompted, enter password (hint: password was set before the system was sent to Hawaii)

  9. Disconnect when finished

Multiple remote sessions (to different machines) can be started from the Remote Desktop Viewer instance.  Each session will be displayed in a separate tab.

Note: A second person opening a Remote Desktop session to the same Windows machine will cause the first session to terminate. (Update: I think this has changed and now the second person can’t connect while the first person is still connected. Need to test and confirm this behavior.)

Adjusting offset

  1. On the engineering interface in the MMCS VM (10.3.1.12 by RDP).

  2. Configuration screen,

  3. Time tab.

  4. Offset can be adjust by setting absolute offset or applying a relative offset.
