Bug Fixes

Release 2.2.2

Summary views were showing default titles, abstracts, proposal types, and Proposal ID’s. Code was updated so the summary now shows the correct values instead.

Release 2.2.1

Cloned proposals will no longer clone the Co-Investigators. Co-Investigators will need to be manually re-added to the cloned proposal.

Status of cloned proposals before saving will now correctly show as “New”, rather than the status of the old proposal.

Release 2.2.0

Changes were made in support of internal database changes.

Investigators can now be modified by the Principal Investigator after the proposal has been submitted.

Release 2.1.1

Improved support for hidden and inactive users. If you need to hide or inactivate your account, please contact the helpdesk.

Fixed a user permissions issue.

Release 2.1.0

Internal web page changes were made to accommodate database changes. No change in functionality should be seen.

Release 2.0.1

Cloning an existing proposal into a new proposal is now more widely available. Because instrument wavelengths have changed between different proposals, the user will need to re-specify the wavelengths for their instruments. The user will be notified of this before cloning, and on the Submission tab.

Due to process restrictions, cloning may not be available for all proposals, but should be available for most.

Some radio buttons were blank when more than one instrument was chosen and the page was reloaded. They should now display properly. This issue was cosmetic, and did not affect the data of the proposal.

Release 2.0.0

The Proposal Architect has been updated to provide a faster, cleaner, more secure experience.

A number of new features have been added, and issues resolved, based on user feedback.

User profile

  • The user profile now contains an optional field to note the user’s level of expertise.

  • Affiliations are now on a list, rather than free text. If you don’t see yours, please contact the Helpdesk to have it added.

  • A free Globus account is still required to use the PA. You will be prompted during the login process for your Globus credentials.

General

  • Some fields or values may be disabled for a specific Proposal Call or Cycle time period. These fields will be greyed out, and contain a note about their disabled status.

  • The Save button has been moved away from the Logout button.

  • The Profile is now accessed by clicking on the icon in the upper right-hand corner.

  • DRAFT proposals that were not submitted during prior Proposal Calls will have their status changed to EXPIRED at the beginning of a new Proposal Call.

  • Proposals are not possible to clone between Proposal Call periods.

Creating a proposal - General

  • New fields for Critical Science Plan, and Additional Comments have been added.

  • Titles will no longer start with an indestructible dash.

Creating a proposal - Observations

  • FIDO configuration files are no longer required, and have been replaced by a drop-down selection.

Creating a proposal - Summary

  • Summary displays are anonymized, and will not show user information

Creating a proposal - Submission

  • More feedback is provided during the submission process

  • Clicking an entry that needs to be fixed will take the user to the region of the entry. Some unhiding and scrolling may still be required.

  • Files attached to the Proposal will have their names anonymized during the submission process, but not before. This will not affect the contents of the file.

Limitations and known issues

  • The PA only works on more recent editions of Firefox, Chrome (and Chromium-based, such as Edge), and Safari browsers. Internet Explorer is not supported.

  • Small phone screens are not supported, although they may be possible to use.

  • Safari may stubbornly prompt for passwords for some non-password fields. You may safely ignore it.

  • Some VPN’s and anti-virus software may interfere with use of the PA.

  • No labels
