Submission

DKIST science proposals can only be submitted when the Proposal Call window is open for user submissions. The DKIST Proposal Architect as well as the Proposal Call announcement lists the submission deadline in GMT. While the submission window is open, the Submit button can be used to submit a proposal which has been verified and cleared of all error messages. The typical submission window is 1 month, but can be longer during the Operations Commissioning Phase of the DKIST.

Only PIs can submit a proposal; Co-Is are not able to submit proposals.

If a PI has made a mistake submitting a proposal, they can request retraction of the proposal via the DKIST Help Desk (see “Retraction” below).

Retraction

Once a proposal is submitted, this action cannot be undone by the PI of the proposal. In the event that the PI has made a mistake submitting a proposal, they can request a retraction of the proposal via the DKIST Help Desk. Retraction can only be requested up to the proposal submission deadline by the PI of the proposal. When requesting retraction, please provide the PI name, Globus Account ID and Submission Proposal ID in the Help Desk request. Once the request has been filed with the Help Desk, all correspondences and notifications will take place via the Help Desk system, Jira Service Desk, between the PI and the DKIST Help Desk staff.
