The Science Data Distribution Management Composite Application supports the 05 - Distribution SA Process. The distribution can be broken up into 2 parts:

Access Management:

The assignment of ACLs, which addresses limited access datasets due to embargo, is realized by the download-authorizer. The Download Authorizer modifies permissions on the dataset "folders" in the 01 - Object Store using the 08 - Transfer Manager for 3 scenarios:

• initially open (i.e., not embargoed)
• initially embargoed
• un-embargoed after a period of embargo

Download:

With the permission structure maintained independently from download requests, the download process can be initiated by a user using the Science Data Discovery Web Application, User Tools Library, or user-developed code accessing the Globus API at any time.
