DKIST General

• Dave B. presented an update on the status of DKIST to the AURA Solar Observatory Council (SOC).

Operational Status

• We are currently in week 7 of Science Operations period OCP 2.7. The OCP2.7 window closes on Saturday, July 13.

• DKIST is down 7/11 due to a brush fire near the Crater Road. Updates can be found here: https://www.mauicounty.gov/

Accomplishments

• Ongoing observing support for OCP2.7.

• Finalized plan for OCP2.8.

TechOps team

Accomplishments

• Site power loss on 7/6 related to brush fire below park in ranch land.

  • Stacey (DE for 7/8) & James (ETech) went to site on Sun 7/7 am to check over facility. All power on summit down. Generator running.

  • HECO Power returned 2:30pm hst 7/7

  • Recover started first thing Mon 7/8 with all systems back up ready for obs start up by 11:20am!!!!

  • 12:20pm mon 7/8 back on sun observing! What a team!

• Prep for the coming Eng 2024C starting 7/15.

InstOps team

Accomplishments

• Received draft VTF plan for the third campaign in November.

• Finalized schedule for July Engineering 2024C.

• Supported SOC discussions on instrumentation.

• Created HLS Pono 8 release branch in preparation for deployment next week.

Data Center team

Accomplishments

• R. Tawa presented to the SOC on the status of the DKIST Data Center.

• Update the Portal to show Observation Wavelength on the main view

• Implemented the upgrade to CEPH to version 16.2.15 (Pacific)

• Created Tests for the migration of quick look movies to Vimeo.
