Pau Hana to celebrate Sebastien Poupor and Linda Edwards moving on to greener pastures. - 8/22, 4:30pm at the DSSC

Personnel

Sebastian Poupar will be departing DKIST for a new position in Italy starting in August.
Linda Edwards will also be departing DKIST for a new position soaking up the sun in retirement starting in September.
Dr Sarah Jaeggli was approved by the AURA Board of Directors for tenure! Please congratulate Sarah when you see her.

SciOps and OpsTools team

Accomplishments

Cycle 3 Technical Review has closed out.
Cycle 3 Time Allocation Committee meeting has been scheduled.
Ongoing observing support for OCP2.8.
Draft plan for OCP2.9.
Meeting to collaborate with SKAO Team members to create training programs on Confluence with document management apps.
OpsTool team is preparing for the release of a new version of the Experiment Architect to be used during Cycle 3 Experiment Generation.

TechOps team

Accomplishments

All containers at FAA laydown area on summit and the VTF containers have been removed from site on Tue 8/13 by Rojac Trucking. 2 x 20ft containers donated to local charities, rest delivered to DKIST Central Maui baseyard area for use in consolidation of offsite storage needs. Thanks to Bruce, Chad, Derek and Mike for load & offload assistance.
hosted Michiel Van Der Hoeven - NOIRLab Head of Engineering Services and Kevin McLaughlin - PM/ Systems Eng. on Mon 8/12. Very useful discussion.
Minor Refrigerant leak on primary Chiller 01 on Friday, support from Charlie and ChrisL remotely for Stephen G. / Eric B. Obs crew.
- JCI technician (chiller service contract) called out first thing Mon 8/12 for repair & chiller back in service.
Contractor installed site electronic access control system Wed. and went live on Thur. Major prep by Marco, Koki & the Etech crew.
M1 CO₂ cleaning completed wed 8/14.

InstOps team

Accomplishments

Ongoing instrumentation support for OCP 2.8
Repair of wavefront DM driver issues that were hindering operations.
Engineering observations to test DL-NIRSP single gain mode and stray light analysis.
Engineering observations to test Cryo-NIRSP slow/fast mode photon transfer calibration.
Engineering observations for ViSP Target IP testing.
Further discussions with Andor on VTF single gain mode and 3rd camera delivery.
Continued development on MISI-116 mounts, M9b &4 km DM table mount plan.

Data Center team

Accomplishments

Completed code for Cryo Spectral Dispersion Scale Correction.
Completed new Cryo-NIRSP Canonical Data for integration tests
Performed final code pass on the Cryo-NIRSP pipeline (no more ToDos, well documented etc…) in preparation for V1.0 release
Updated the Mongo Database to the Latest version.
