InstOps team

Accomplishments

  • Planning for the M7 alignment. M7 measurements have been taken.

  • HLS Release Kakou_1-rc1 has been deployed to the summit.  Overall the deployment went smoothly but there are are three minor issues that the HLS team expect to resolve quickly.

  • Cryo-NIRSP was opened and internal measurements were taken. Four new filters have been installed in new filter holders, including the two new 4 µ filters.

  • DL-NIRSP IR cameras were pumped and cooled down.

  • New DL-NIRSP MISI-36 entrance aperture mask was installed to eliminate vignetting of two slitlets.

Data Center team

Accomplishments

  • Fixed reporting of Fried parameter (R0) when the adaptive optics (AO) lock is false. The  solution was to remove the ATMOS_R0 header key in cases where AO_LOCK is false and stop storing those values as quality metrics. Also, set limits on the Fried parameter plot in the quality report so that remaining outlandish values will not crush the valid values to an unrecognizable scale. Arrows now point to values that are clearly out of range.

  • Began the annual process of rotating secrets throughout the Data Center stack. This is done during a period of operations downtime (winter) so as to minimize possible impact the the operational cadence of the DKIST (i.e. getting data out to the PIs)

  • Refactored the Snyk vulnerability scans to better support version management. This effort also includes a capability to support a repository-level list of vulnerabilities to ignore.

  • Updated the ViSP documentation to more accurately describe the cause of multiple hairlines in certain Visp plots. These effects are caused by reflections and duct on the slit.

  • Began working on the reprocessing process implementation - reprocessing of L0 data with a new algorithm will create a new version of the L1, keeping only the previous version, and deleting any previous to that (latest-2). The process had been created and agreed on some months ago, but had not been implemented.

  • Continued working through the backlog of datasets that need manual intervention in order for the pipeline to run to completion and create a L1 data set.
