Operational Status

• DKIST is in week 1 of Engineering period Eng. 2025b.

Events

• NSF Concept of Operations (ConOps) review was held on Maui: 2/10 - 2/14

• The 2025 SDO Science Workshop “A Gathering of the Helio-Hive” was held this week in Boulder with NSO/DKIST participation.

  • On 2/21 a mini-workshop on DKIST Data Retrieval and Analysis was held within the SDO workshop.

SciOps and OpsTools team

Accomplishments

• The Science Operations Manager and the Program Scientist for Operations both presented at the DKIST ConOps review.

• DKIST Scientists are finishing the experiments required for OCP3.1 starting the first week of March.

• A New Jira project was created to track the execution of Cycle 3 experiments during the year.

TechOps team

Accomplishments

• The TechOps Manger and the TechOps Systems Engineer both presented at the DKIST ConOps review.

Instrumentation team

Accomplishments

• The Instrumentation Program Manager and the Instrumentation Program Scientist both presented at the DKIST ConOps review.

• Continued instrument preparations for upcoming on-sun campaign.

• Completed report on successful M7 optical alignment effort.

• Completed report on ghost and stray light testing of ViSP.

Data Center team

Accomplishments

• The Data Center Manager and the Data Scientist both presented at the DKIST ConOps review.

• Data Center Scientist is presenting the DKIST User Tools at the SDO workshop.

EHS team

Accomplishments

• The EHS Manager presented at the DKIST ConOps review

• The DKIST bi-monthly health and safety report was submitted 2/12

• Gary attended ASSP Program Fall Protection Administrator training.

High Level Software team

Accomplishments

• Design and installation planning for the Durham Profiler

• Database performance improvements tested

• Automated observatory open and close scripts updated and tested
