Coudé Rotator Hard Stops

The Coudé azimuth hard stops are designed to prevent the Coudé rotator from exceeded it’s designed travel range. Because the Coudé rotator can travel more that 360° the hard stops must be retracted to allow travel.

There are two hard stops that are spring-operated to the deployed (up position). The Beckhoff controllers retracts the hard stop using pneumatics.

During most of the travel range the stops are in the retracted (down position). As the Coudé Rotator approaches the end of travel the hard stops are released and allowed to deploy.
